Kelly Copper and Pavol Liska began their collaboration in 1997, and together founded Nature Theater of Oklahoma in 2006. The company is committed to “making the work they don’t know how to make,” an approach yielding new amalgams of opera, dance, and theatre, combined with popular culture and humor.

2021/22: Kate McIntosh

Kate McIntosh (1974) is a Brussels-based artist who practices across the boundaries of performance, theatre and installation. Her works often focus on the physicality of both performer and audience, the manipulation of objects and materials, and the development of direct relations with and between audience members.

Die Theaterarbeiten des Regisseurs und Autors Boris Nikitin setzen sich seit rund zehn Jahren mit der Konstruktion von Identität und Realität auseinander. Seine Stücke suchen dabei stets den Grenzgang zwischen Illusionstheater und Performance. Mit „Hamlet“ eröffnete er 2016 das Impulse-Festival in Köln. Theater heute schreibt: „Wie wenig andere führt Boris Nikitin das Theater derzeit an einen kritischen Punkt.“

Stumbling About In The Dark

Recently someone asked us about how Forced Entertainment went about the process of making performances. There was a long silence, a lot of ummms and errrrs, and then one of us (Richard Lowdon, if I remember correctly) said: ‘We don’t really have a set of fixed techniques or starting points. We just sit down and talk about what we want to make, and then we try to make it. But there are no signposts. Mostly what we do is stumble about in the dark until we bump into something interesting.’
